Piedirosso is also called Per 'e Palummo because the original biotype when ripe has a red coloration of the stem, such as to make it similar to a paw of a pigeon. It is a typically Campania or rather Neapolitan vine, because widespread mainly in the volcanic areas of the province of Naples. Mr. Hervè Lorin, wine antiquarian, he defined it thus: “Perfectly original, totally forgotten and wonderful decadent, it's not just a great wine, but an authentic Cru of the ancient way”. Colle Rotondella is produced with grapes from Tenuta Camaldoli.
